We’re excited to share that our UK rental facility is now equipped with a 70.8 kW solar energy system, taking us another step forward in our sustainability journey. This installation, part of the Energy for All scheme, underscores our commitment to reducing emissions and operational costs while championing renewable energy within the construction industry.
Results That Matter
In just two weeks, 120 high-efficiency solar panels and a SolaX inverter were installed, ensuring relatively uninterrupted site operations. The new system will deliver:
• Annual savings of approximately £20,000.
• A reduction of 19 tons in CO2 emissions every year.
• Up to 36% of electricity needs covered during peak months.
"I'm very excited about the impact our new solar system will have on our sustainability goals. By generating our own power, we’re decreasing our reliance on grid electricity, which includes carbon-emitting sources like gas and biomass, and moving closer to a sustainable future." Commented Niall Conroy, WOLFFKRAN Sustainability Program Manager.
How the Energy for All Scheme Works
The Energy for All scheme helps businesses transition to solar energy without the need for upfront investment. Through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), companies like WOLFFKRAN can install solar systems at zero capital cost. Instead, they pay a fixed, reduced rate for the electricity generated by the system, offering protection against rising energy prices and reducing reliance on the national grid.
