Multiplex Plant and Equipment purchase WOLFF tower cranes to work on the redevelopment of Elephant and Castle Town Centre project

"Multiplex Plant and Equipment have selected Wolffkran on the ECTC Project due to the experience we had with them on recent high rise projects at Damac Tower and Marble Arch Place. Wolffkran are very versatile, they have designed the tower crane scheme utilising the MPE owned cranes where possible." said Paul Hartigan, Head of Plant & Equipment for Multiplex Plant and Equipment.

At the beginning of August, WOLFFKRAN erected the first crane, the WOLFF 700 B, which will be joined later on by WOLFF 235 B and WOLFF 355 B, all three from our rental fleet. 

Multiplex takes delivery of three new WOLFF cranes

''These are the first WOLFF cranes to be owned by Multiplex Plant and Equipment. The decision to buy was influenced by first-hand experience with the brand on numerous successful projects over the past eight years," said Dave Holder, European Operations Director of WOLFFKRAN Group Rental Fleet. "Multiplex Plant and Equipment  have also been very impressed with the service and technical assistance delivered by WOLFFKRAN." Dave continued.

The cranes of choice are three WOLFFs 355 B with full 60m jib extensions and a large base tower. That will enable Multiplex Plant and Equipment to add more tower elements efficiently to achieve greater tower heights, free-standing and tied.

The new tower cranes are planned to be delivered for the project at the end of this year.

A sizeable Project

On completion in 2026, the Elephant and Castle Town Centre project will bring 485 homes to rent, a new tube station, and a new campus for the London College of Communication UAL.
