WOLFFKRAN Ltd announces sponsorship of UK Tower Crane Operator of the Year 2024

United Kingdom – May 2024. WOLFFKRAN Ltd, a leader in tower crane manufacturing, is thrilled to announce its sponsorship for the second consecutive year of the Tower Crane category in the prestigious UK Plant Operator of the Year competition. This event, in partnership with UK Plant Operators Magazine, is set to take place on September 21st at the National Construction College in Bircham Newton.

The UK Tower Crane Operator of 2024 competition aims to showcase the remarkable skills and expertise of crane operators from across the United Kingdom, promoting the role as a progressive career path within the construction industry. Finalists will face a series of tasks and challenges, judged by specialised crane instructors from the CITB. The winner of the Tower Crane Operator category will be awarded a prize of £2,500, underscoring the competition's commitment to recognising and rewarding the top talent in the field.

Also, it gives all Crane Operators a chance to get their hands on the levers of a new Wolff Saddle Jib Crane and experience what 170 years of manufacturing feels like with our longstanding heritage. The event is open to all qualified Tower Crane Operators working in the UK". Continued Adrian.

The Tower Crane selected for competitors to test the finalist's ability will be the WOLFF 6023 Saddle Jib Crane, which is owned by the CITB and sited at the National Construction College. The crane, just 2-years old, has received excellent feedback from all that have been trained thus far, whether they be apprentice crane operators, or upskilling seasoned professionals.

2023 Tower Crane Operator of the Year, Tom Allen, said after winning the event, "Being named the Tower Crane operator of the year was an incredible experience. The title is more than just a personal achievement, it signifies a standard of excellence and a commitment to safety and precision in our industry".

UK Plant Operator of the year is now in its 4th successful year champions the construction industry and the role of Plant and Tower Crane Operators. Working with industry to become safer, smarter, and more sustainable.
