On Tuesday, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new headquarters of WOLFFKRAN Schweiz AG took place. The 18,000 square meter property in the industrial zone of Elsau will include a modern office and workshop building and an optimally structured outdoor storage facility. Completion is scheduled for May 2021.
Rolf Mathys, Managing Director of WOLFFKRAN Schweiz AG, together with Jasper Schiefer, member of the WOLFFKRAN owning family, and Jürg Frutiger, President of the Municipality of Elsau, participated in the groundbreaking festivities. Further attendees included representatives from the construction companies Stutz AG and Marti AG as well as architects from MGH which will be carrying out and managing the construction work.
The planning of the new location has been in full swing since November 2019. The construction includes an approx. 1,500 square meter building, with one underground and two above ground floors that will accommodate modern offices, ample spaces for socializing and a spacious workshop for maintaining the fleet of rental cranes, as well as the entire infrastructure of the outdoor yard and storage area. While the new building is characterized by a modern steel structure facing the street, numerous green spaces are integrated in the outdoor storage area. This not only provides for a better organization of the storage area but also contributes to its harmonious integration with the adjacent forest in the south.
Move in early summer 2021
After being based in Dällikon in the Swiss canton of Zurich for 19 years, WOLFFKRAN Schweiz AG decided to relocate its headquarters 40 kilometers further east to Elsau, not far from Winterthur. The decision to relocate was taken due to the expiring lease of the aging premises in Dällikon. Construction on the newly purchased property in Elsau will be starting shortly and the team of about 45 employees is expected to move into the new facilities in early summer.
“We look forward to a new state-of-the-art headquarters from which we will be able to offer our customers in the German-speaking part of Switzerland the best possible crane maintenance and planning services,” says Rolf Mathys. “The new outdoor yard allows for more efficient storage solutions providing even more comfort and planning security for our customers and their construction projects.”
